New McLaren W1 Advanced Hybrid Powertrain  

The W1 has an all-new McLaren High-Performance Hybrid (HPH) powertrain that combines blistering performance with advanced technology. This powertrain incorporates the brand’s newly developed MHP-8 V8 combustion engine paired with a sophisticated E-module featuring a radial flux electric motor, F1-inspired battery technology, and an advanced 8-speed dual-clutch transmission with an integrated E-differential. It generates a mind-blowing 1,275 PS (or approximately 1,258 horsepower), making it the most powerful McLaren road car to date. The combination of 928 PS from the V8 engine and 347 PS from the E-module gives the W1 unprecedented acceleration, control, and efficiency, setting it far above competitors.  

This is the fastest accelerating McLaren road car ever, capable of rocketing from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 2.7 seconds. For those who crave the thrill of even higher speeds, the W1 achieves 200 km/h (124 mph) from a standstill in a mere 5.8 seconds and can reach an impressive 300 km/h (186 mph) in under 12.7 seconds.  

As we all know the brand’s engineering philosophy is a focus on minimizing weight to maximize performance. The W1’s lightweight construction brings its total weight down to 1,399 kg, resulting in power-to-weight ratio of 911 PS per ton.
